The objective of Affinity Insurance Ltd.’s (Affinity) risk control resources is to provide members with claims and loss prevention services to help ensure a financially successful captive program.
Loss Control Consultant
Each member is provided with allocation funds for use in working with a loss control consultant. The role of the consultant is to partner with each particular member, engaging in proactive and preventative loss control services.
Claims Administration
Members have access to the latest technology and resources in managing claims. Partnership with Affinity’s third-party claims administrator includes special handling instructions, defined service expectations, online claims management systems, etc.
Risk Control Workshops
Affinity's insurance program offers members two semi-annual Risk Control Workshops with a focus towards claims and risk control issues. These events are typically held in May and October; each workshop agenda is unique and the sessions are customized to meet member needs.
Monthly Webinars
Affinity members are invited to participate in monthly webinars, at no additional cost. Webinars are offered at 10am and 3pm (Central) on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, with presentations limited to no more than 60 minutes.
Risk Platform
Affinity members are provided the opportunity to subscribe to a web-based safety, health, and wellness resource system. The service offers members access to an abundance of tools, from safety training to employment practices.
Member Portal
The Affinity Member Portal allows members to access information such as annual reports, board meeting information, member forum discussions, webinar recordings, risk control information, etc.
Medcor
Affinity members are afforded the opportunity to use the medical triage services of Medcor, at no additional cost. Medcor is a 24/7 phone service for use following a work-related injury, providing immediate guidance from a nurse for the most appropriate medical treatment.
National Safety Council
Affinity members additionally receive a membership to the NSC. Membership offers a wide variety of tools and resources, including "Safety+Health" magazine, resource center and library services, industry-specific networking groups, "News Alert", newsletters, etc.
National Safety Council Recognition Program
The National Safety Council has partnered with Affinity to offer members two co-branded Safety Recognition Awards. These recognition awards are available to members that meet the qualification criteria and are offered in addition to Affinity’s Risk Control Awards program.
Affinity Risk Control Awards
Affinity annually recognizes those members that are successful in managing losses, actively participating in risk control events, and demonstrating a commitment to safety throughout their organization. Award winners are formally announced and recognized at the summer board meetings.
